Hello all!
I’m back after a vacation and ready to host two events here at Foodelicious. The month of May is a special month for Foodelicious as my blog baby celebrates it’s fourth birthday coming 21st. This month is also special as many countries will celebrate Mother’s day on the 12th i.e the second Sunday of May.
Mother is the most special person in every one’s life. She is the anchor of a family and to celebrate motherhood, the contribution of a mother and the bond she shares with her children, Mother’s day is celebrated.
Since it’s a special month, I thought of making it super special by hosting an event which will provide us a reason to try recipes that our mother cooked and our family loved but at the same time providing us a platform to share it with the world. To make this event big, I’m thankful to Raghavan Iyer and Workman Publishing, for sponsoring this giveaway which will get shipped Internationally.
Raghavan Iyer, needs no introduction. The author of 660Curries, Betty Crocker’s Indian Home Cooking and Memories from an Indian Childhood. He is an IACP ( International Association of Culinary Professionals) award winning teacher of the year 2004. His cookbook ‘660 Curries’ was amongst the top cookbooks of 2008. This book is very close to my heart and I’ve personally tried many recipes from it and that’s the reason I chose it to be given as a giveaway to the winner of this event.
To participate in the event
- Cook and post a recipe that you have learnt from your mother and mention in your post, why you like it.
- Link your post to the inlinkz tool provided below and link it to my event announcement in your post.
- Only fresh posts/recipes will be accepted, no posts from archives will be accepted.
- Use of logo is compulsory, as it helps spread the word.
- The recipe can be vegetarian or non vegetarian (although my blog is a vegetarian blog).
- The giveaway will be shipped to the winner internationally but he/she needs to be a follower of this blog either through google/google+/ networked blogs.
- If you think that my recipes are worth trying, would truly appreciate that you like my Facebook page here.
- At the end of the event the winner will be chosen by a random method.
- In case you have a problem in linking your post in the inlinkz tool, mail me your link at cookingoodfood@gmail.com.
- Non bloggers can mail me their recipe with a picture.
I’m also happy to inform you that Raghavan Iyer’s new cookbook Indian Cooking Unfolded is getting released in July and one can preorder the book and the details can be checked here. This book has 100 recipes with step by step lessons. I’m personally eyeing the book and hoping to see in my book shelf soon.

ReplyDeleteHi Pari, Chicken curry with coconut milk is not from archives, it was cooked and posted on 6th May in my blog.. you can see the date in the link it shows 2013/05..
ReplyDeleteYou are mistaken because I had posted it with other recipes earlier which you had rejected.
Dear Shobha, I know that they r not from archives and I've accepted both entries. I had left that comment so that u do not post anything from archives. I had a feeling u have not read the rules properly since I had to reject so many of ur entries.
